Foxcraft #1: The Taken- Inbali Iserles

What I thought of it:

Okay, I really liked this book. Friendships totter and family is broken like the bones of a mouse under a foxes jaws. Isla is such a great character and her struggles inside help her and sometimes hurt her. She's a little bit sensitive and she loves her brother with everything she has. She's very smart and conserves her maa (a fox's life force), which is used to practice foxcraft! Isla knows how to karakk and she learns how to slimmer. She only uses these abilities in times of need, when she's facing a grave danger. Her heart is bigger than it seems, and you'll never look at a fox the same way again.

How I Found Out About it:

I was searching on Goodreads (quite arguably the best website there is, even counting random.dog), and I was on the little book page for Wings of Fire. I scrolled through the Readers Also Liked... thingy and saw Foxcraft. The first thing that got me; the adorable little fox on the front! Then I read the blurb and I knew I had to read it!

What You Should Know:

This book completely changed my view of foxes. It was truly incredible. How on Earth did Inbali even do it? It made so much sense, how Isla reacted to the furless (the foxes' words for humans), and the manglers (the foxes' words for cars). I really loved how the whole thing was tied together, like a birthday present with a  ribbon that was tied so carefully, you're not even sure if you want to unwrap it.
