    Warning:  this description has not been authorized by Pseudonymous Bosch 😉 .  As much as he'd love to sing the praises of his book (he is very vain), he wouldn't want you to hear about his brave 11-year old heroes, Cass and Max-Ernest. Or about how a mysterious box of vials, the Symphony of Smells, sends them on the trail of a magician who has vanished under strange (and stinky) circumstances. And he certainly wouldn't want you to know about the hair-raising adventures that follow and the nefarious villains they face. You see, not only is the name of this book secret, the story inside is, too. For it concerns a secret. A Big Secret.

   Max's parents are both going away to get his mom better medical care. They leave him at their house with his cousin, Alex. Alex is funny, and a great cousin. When she and Max realize that his parents have to pay bills, they know that they need to get money. How? After selling everything in Max's house, they only have 1,000 dollars. That's hardly enough.  After they find a mysterious chest in a secret room in Max's house, they sell it since they can't find a single thing in it. Alex and Max soon realize there is something in there... something that will change their lives. 

  Kendra and Seth aren't invited to the family cruise almost their whole family is going on. They're taken to their grandpa Sorenson's house, which seems kind of bland and boring at first. But as things go on... Kendra and Seth start to think that there might be more there than meets the eye.

Arrietty and Homily, since they are female, are forced to stay down, under the floorboards of their house, living a "nice and cozy" life. But it's boring, especially if you're a child. I finished it. I really, actually finished it!  But... I'm so sad it's over! What a wonderful story to read. Let's all confirm: this is honestly the best fox series EVER WRITTEN. I mean, really!
